What makes Cartersville lawns different

Near the Etowah River, soils tend to be deeper and loamier, which fescue and Bermuda both like. Move up toward Pine Mountain and the ridges and you are back to stiff red clay that sheds water and compacts under foot traffic. Valley soils influenced by limestone can also run alkaline, so a soil test before you fertilize is worth the small cost.
